The Lakeland Hawks tied 1-1 with the Lewiston Bengals on Sept. 25.
The hawks were cutting down on the defensive line and had held the ball well the whole game. They played as a team, which was well needed playing against Lewiston after losing 9-3 on Sept. 3.
Lewiston defense was unorganized. The ball had gotten through Lewiston and Natalee Rose saw an opportunity and was just her against the goalie and scored to put the hawks on the board.
Reesa Saxe was off of the goal line to save the ball to keep the Bengals from scoring.
“We played as a team and communicated a lot better,” Natalee Rose said.
Karstyn Keifer was a key to the defense to hold the Bengals from scoring.
“We held the offensive line very well and were able to keep Lewiston from scoring, as a team and not individually,” Karstyn Keifer said.

The Lakeland Hawks are now 5-3-3 and will play at Lake City on Sept. 30.
