Alyssa Ryckman is one of our very own seniors at Lakeland High School (LHS) and has big plans for the future. She is currently a player on the LHS varsity volleyball team and is a well known member of our small community in Rathdrum.
Ryckman plans on going to Boise State University (BSU) for college.
She chose BSU because she loves the environment and the liveliness of the campus and its sports.
Ryckman is planning on carrying out a degree in Pediatric Occupational Therapy, where she will start out her bachelors in Kinesiology at BSU and finish her studies at Idaho State University (ISU).
This is a very specific career path considering not most seniors know exactly what they want to do with their future yet.
“I love being around kids and helping them be able to move around freely and confidently,” Ryckman said, “It is something I would love to do for as long as possible.”
Ryckman’s love for kids starts at home where she has four younger siblings. Although it will be hard leaving home, Ryckman is looking forward to her future and new phase of life.
“I’m excited for the football games and the flexibility of college class schedules,” Ryckman said, “I’m also excited to hangout and possibly live with or next to my friends down there and explore away from our small town.”
