For many students joining a new school can be intimidating, the same goes for new teachers. Jennifer Moore is a new teacher at Lakeland High School (LHS) for the 2025-2026 school year. She teaches the classes History II, Economics, and Government, classes that are popular amongst senior students.
Originally from Ohio, Moore has lived in Liberty Lake, Washington for quite some time now. She found Lakeland High School after some time of her and her family moving around before finally settling down. Once she and her family stopped moving around and she got her teaching degree in college, she thought Lakeland might be the perfect place for her to begin teaching.
Mrs. Moore said, “The students at Lakeland have a lot of kindness and compassion I didn’t know still existed. You can just tell they’re all from nice families.”
Mrs. Moore claims that she has enjoyed her first few weeks teaching at Lakeland and the students are all so great. She teaches mostly seniors who unlike her are ending their time at LHS while she has just begun.
Just like Mrs. Moore enjoys her students, her students had nice things to say about her too. Mrs. Moore’s way of teaching is straight to the point and easy to understand according to students. They say although she is straight to the point, she is also very good at explaining things and is very interactive in the classroom.
Brylee Waterman, a senior student in Moore’s Economics class said, “She makes her teaching very clear and she is very understanding when it comes to questions about what we are learning.”
Katie Dewey, another senior student in Mrs. Moore’s Economics class said, “Mrs. Moore is very interactive with her class and makes what we are learning more interesting. I thought Economics might be more boring than it is.”
Although Mrs. Moore is just beginning her teaching career at LHS, it seems like she will probably be spending a lot more time teaching at LHS in the future.
