The Lakeland Hawks defeated the Post Falls Trojans on Sept. 19. The Hawks secured the win with a 35-7 lead.
Griffin Tamagni was a key factor for the Hawks with 155 yards and four touchdowns
In the first quarter, both teams were fighting for a first score on the board. Tamagni opened up the second quarter having two touchdowns.
Broxton Lukey ran a 66 yard pass from Peyton Hillman to score in the third quarter.
Tamagni finished the game strong with two more touchdowns with 27 carries.
“He faced the challenge of the size of post falls defense and was able to keep playing the way he did,” Dreyden Smith said, “ He did very well dealing with the big challenge.”
Lakeland high school has only beat Post Falls high school twice in the last 10 years. This win was huge for the hawks and was a goal they accomplished for the season.
The Lakeland Hawks are currently ranked 17th in the state of Idaho and 1st in the conference.
The Hawks will be playing at home this week for their first conference game of the season against the Moscow Bears.
