The 2025 elections for the student body are coming up Wednesday May 14. The candidates have begun campaigning with posers in the hallways and posts on instagram.
Let’s meet the candidates:
ASB President: Lilly Dotson, Daniel Killian
Senior Class President: Lilly Dotson, Daniel Killian, Leeann Lohf
“I am running for president because I want to make this school a better place. I have been in the student council for the past two years,” Killian says. “Along with that I have been involved in our school in many other clubs and activities. I believe this gives me a good idea of the problems as well as the great things about our school. If elected I will try my hardest to listen and please all of the students in Lakeland”
Running for senior President is Lilly Dotson, Daniel Killian, and Leeann Lohf.
ASB Vice President: Kindell Day, Jackie Robbins
Junior Class President: Kindell Day, Jackie Robbins
“I work well with others and I have no problem with speaking up so I will ensure that the student body’s requests are heard and acted on.” Day said.
Day is running for ASB president because she wants to create a community for everyone.
“It will be my third year running in the student council, and I have spent my past two years serving Lakeland and its student body. I care so much about Lakeland.” Robbins said. “I believe I am the best candidate for this position because I will give each student and staff everything I have. Vote Jackie!”
Sophomore Class President: Mackenzie Moceri
“I am running for sophomore class president because I love student council and I think we need a change in presidency. I will bring new exciting events and a new outlook on school spirit.”
Senior Vice President: Amelia Hamburger, Emma Davis
“I am running for Senior Vice President because I feel that I can contribute to the discussion about senior events and activities. I enjoy being in the student council and know I can help improve our school’s morale,” Davis said.
Senior Public Relations: Piper Schneider, Riley Clement
“I like setting up games and events, I would do any position to stay in the student council,” Clement said.
She has the position this year already and enjoys it and would love to be reelected.
“I am running for Public Relations for the second year in a row because I really enjoyed it this year,” Schneider said, “I love creating digital announcements for all of the Junior class to use, and I think that it’s a great skill that I get to have the privilege of experiencing and perfecting.”
Junior Vice President: Vash Handford
“I’m running to make a difference in the school’s attitude, you should vote for me because I’m the best,” Hanford said.
Sophomore Vice President: Kandice Molitor, Izzy Warmington
“I am really passionate about it. I have a big passion about school and goals. It makes me really happy. I love being a part of it,” Molitor said.
Molitor has been in student council for multiple years now and has the passion for the school.
Sophomore Public Relations: Bella Lenhard, Katherine Fus
“I am in the current position and I really like having an impact on the school,” Fus said. “I love to be creative and reach out to students for different things. I have already had this position in the student council and really care about the school.”
Lenhard is running for Public Relations because she wants to make sure everyone stays informed and in the loop about what is going on in the school.
“You should vote for me for this position because I will make sure everyone knows what’s going on in a fun, easy, and clear way for everyone,” Lenhard said.
Sophomore Class Rep: Annie Mattila, Kendal Prety, Rory Spurway, Marissa Benson
“I am running for class representative, because I love being in Student Council,” Mattila said.
Mattila loves all the amazing people in her class.
Prety has been in the student council for five years and it has become a big part of her life.
“I enjoy helping the school,” Prety said.
Benson wants to bring more school spirit and represent her class.
“My favorite part is getting to know everybody and making a change in my school,” Benson said. “I can bring a lot of extment and good spirit to the class and I can make a change.”
ASB Secretary: Charlie Mattila
“I am running for ASB secretary. I remember all the work that goes on behind the scenes,” Mattila said, “I watch it bring us together and create a community that is amazing. Vote for me because I want to bring that community to our entire school.”
ASB DOC: Riley Clement
Running for spirit leaders is Lohf and Hamburger, they are running unopposed.
“I am running for ASB spirit leader because I believe that school spirit and support is so incredibly important to our community,” Hamburger said. “These last few years we have lost a lot of school participation, and as a senior I really would like to help build our spirit back up”
