Malevolent shapeshifting witches that can transform and possess creatures to disguise themselves.
Some believe in them and some do not but there is no doubt they have had a big influence in human culture and folklore.
These creatures, commonly referred to as Skinwalkers, originated from the Navajo tribe.
They are known as witches, often regarded as yee naaldlooshi, meaning “with it, he goes on all fours.”
It was said that one could become a skinwalker by committing a heinous act such as killing a family member.
The skinwalkers were a very feared type of witch due to their abilities and powers.
They could lure their prey in by acting as a distressed animal or human.
Skinwalkers play with their victims’ minds until they get them in just the right spot.
Skinwalkers are pure evil and enjoy spreading fear into humans.
They perform ritualistic ceremonies and magic to rebel against healers.
The most common animal that these witches tend to shape shift into is the coyote, as it is seen as a trickster animal.
But they can also transform into any animals involved with death or bad omens.
It is also said that skinwalkers were actually once healers in their lifetime, but got consumed by evil.
Skinwalkers are said to be near-impossible to kill, making them a very formidable force.
These creatures are often found near graves or graveyards.
The only known way to kill a skinwalker is to use its own magic and charms against it.
Some have claimed to have come across these evil witches.
Whether or not they actually witnessed them or just was spooked and started making up things will never be known.
These reports are often unexplainable and therefore cannot be definitive proof of the acclaimed skinwalker existence.
According to Terry and Gwen Sherman, there has been suspicious activity on their ranch.
“There’s been a lot of cattle mutilations, and a lot of them weren’t reported,” Sherman said. “Several (ranchers) told me that when they had a (mutilation), they called the authorities and the authorities couldn’t do anything, so it was just a waste of time and effort.”
In 1997, biochemist Colm Kelleher claimed to have seen a “large humanoid creature”.
Scientifically speaking, skinwalkers cannot be real.
Although they are important in Native American culture and popular in entertainment, the likelihood of these creatures being real is extremely low and almost zero.
But it is still a very popular debate among skeptics.
Skinwalkers have been spotted all over America.
The most famous and popular location to find skinwalkers is Skinwalker Ranch.
So while their existence can’t be proven, a lot of people do indeed believe.
