Chase Petersen has been a necessary photographer for the Lakeland Hawkeyes since his sophomore year of high school.
He has captured photos around the school, sporting events, mock car crashes, and so much more.
He has used his photography skills to share events on the Lakeland Hawkeye with the community.
“He is a very outgoing person and confident, he has helped bring confidence out more and not be so shy” Asken Wike said. “He is always very out there about helping people. He is always worried about people’s general health. I think lifeguarding helped push him into wanting to be a firefighter.”
His favorite part of Lakeland Journalism is the people he has met and how they have been invited into the class with welcome arms. The people that have welcomed him in sophomore year are Zach Mcgee, Sam Fuller, Liam Bradford, and Micheal Dunn.
It is his senior year and he is getting ready to go into the adult world.
“Chase’s enthusiasm for photography is going to be hard to replace,” Dunn said. “He is very passionate about the things that he finds interesting.”
Chase has been a lifeguard at Silverwood for two years and is going into his third. He is going to carry on his desire for helping others by joining the fire department after going to NIC workforce training center, and EMT school.
“I want to help people and save people and I want to be more a part of my community,” Petersen said.
