There are guitar brands all around the world, all of them have that specific sound, feel, and look that make them all unique. Some may wonder, how many guitar brands are there?
There are over 1,000 different guitar brands sold worldwide. Though some are more niche than others, they all have their pros and cons with unique sounds and designs.
Martin
The company, Martin, has been making guitars for over 180 years. They are high-quality and professional sounding. They tend to have a bit of a darker, deeper sound than most other guitars while still keeping a warm tone.
My Martin guitar is far better than any other guitar I have played and has to be one of my favorite sounding guitars. Some guitarists say that their older Martin guitars sound and feel better than their newer models.
I personally prefer Martin guitars because of their shape and sound. My Martin D-X1E is the third guitar I’ve owned and the only one I’ve truly found to be enjoyable to play. It is also my first acoustic-electric guitar. It is extremely easy to tune, re-string and comes with a built-in chromatic tuner.
Gibson
Many people know Gibson for their electric guitars, but they have good acoustic ones too. Gibson’s have a rich, warm tone to them that sounds beautiful with other instruments. They have iconic and amazing designs, but are a bit on the expensive side. Some guitarists complain that some Gibson models have limited fret access, are too heavy, and cost too much. One of Gibson’s more popular designs is the Les Paul, most famously known for being played by the guitarist, Les Paul.
“I like the sound of Les Paul’s guitar (the Gibson Les Paul).” Michael Keep stated.
Fender
Fender is an extremely popular guitar company and many consider it the largest guitar company around. This brand creates guitars for a wide variety of budgets and they have iconic guitar styles.
Fender’s guitars have a bright tone as well as comfortable designs that make playing their guitars enjoyable. However, some guitarists have said that the quality of Fender guitars has become worse and is not as good as it used to be.
The creator of Fender, Leo Fender, didn’t even know how to play guitar when he made this guitar company more than 70 years ago, but he did play the saxophone.
Taylor
Taylor guitars have a balanced and clear tone. They are great for beginning guitarists as they are known for having comfortable necks and various body types to suit each guitarist’s preferred playing style.
Taylor has a wide variety of designs and unique features that many prefer over other guitars. They use eco-friendly products that support environmental standards. They use different woods for their guitars which results with a different but great sound with each one.
Yamaha
Yamaha is one of the best guitar brands for beginner guitarists because their guitars are on the cheaper side but still have the quality of an expensive guitar. Yamaha’s guitars are the best for those with a smaller budget. They have a range of different types where they are all unique with different sounds and wood styles, though, a lot of the classic guitar look.
