Stepping into the twilight garden, juniors and seniors had the opportunity to dance the night away at prom.
The prom experience extends beyond just the dance. It includes dressing up, spending time with friends, and making memories that will last a lifetime.
Many started the night by getting ready with friends.
“Getting ready was my favorite part,” senior Marlene Edenhofer said.
Getting ready looks different for each group, but Edenhofer and her friends got ready together after a softball game.
After getting ready, many groups took photos and had dinner before going to the dance.
The dance had an upbeat environment with food, a photobooth, lights and a dance floor.
“It was better than I expected,” senior Lucy Salinier said.
It can be fun to see everyone in a more formal environment. It can also be exciting to dress up and dance to the music on a dance floor.
“It was more exciting than homecoming,” junior Delilah Zimmerman said. “More people were involved and the music was way better.”
Toward the end of the dance, it was announced that Makena Hillman and Clive Hobbs won prom queen and king, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“Being announced as prom queen was my favorite part,” Hillman said. “It was a surprise, but it made me feel really good inside.”
She thinks it is really important that anyone hoping to be on prom court someday should follow their dreams.
The night does not end after the dance. Many people go hang out with their friends to keep up the fun.
“We got ice cream, then went bowling until 1,” Salinier said.
Hillman and her friends went to Denny’s and a bonfire, and many others went to continue celebrating prom night.
Prom was an exciting night with many memories made.
