Springtime is a season that brings a refreshing change after the cold winter months. With the longer days approaching and the warm weather starting back up, many fun outdoor spring activities are available in North Idaho. Spending time outdoors is one of the most enjoyable ways to take advantage of the nice weather. Here are some amazing ideas to have a great time in this vibrant season.
Kootenai County Farmers Market
The Kootenai County Farmers Market opens up from May through September. They have many vendors ranging from florists to bakers.
Going to the farmers market is a good way to get some sunshine, connect with new people, and support locally owned businesses.
There are also other great outdoor options for things to do during the springtime.
“I really like the farmers market because I can check out new shops and interact with new people.” Amelia Rambur said.
Farragut State Park & Tubbs Hill
The Park is just 23 minutes northeast from Rathdrum.
It is a 4000-acre park that offers camping, hiking, fishing, and boating.
Many people enjoy Farragut because it has a diverse range of activities as well as hidden beauties throughout the park.
There are also many areas that mainly locals know about in Farragut and one of them is called Beaver Bay.
Beaver Bay is a great swim area since it is closed off from boats and the deepest part of the bay is 10 feet deep.
Tubbs Hill is located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
It has a great view of the lake and is close to the downtown area.
It is a two-mile hike all the way around the hill and has many spots that allow visitors to cliff jump, suntan, relax, and swim.
Many locals like Tubbs Hill because of its stunning views over the lake and how accessible it is from downtown Coeur D’ Alene.
Silverwood Theme Park
Along with all of the natural parts of Idaho, tourist attractions start opening back up, causing tourists and vacationers to flood North Idaho.
The theme parks opening dates are May 3rd and 4th.
In honor of their 36th season of opening, they are doing a $36 admission fee, if you are a youth or a senior the cost will only be $19.
Silverwood has a large variety of ride options open for all ages, many rides range from kiddy rides to huge thrill rides like Tremors or Aftershock.
“Lifeguarding is so fun because they make everyone feel welcome. I love getting tan and working slides at the waterpark for silverwood,” Teagan Patrick, a lifeguard at Silverwood says.
“I also love the social aspect,” Patrick said.
All of these outdoor activities can help locally owned businesses, help keep an active life, and get vitamin D.
