The Lakeland Hawks boys basketball team fell to the Sandpoint Bulldogs in a conference game at home.
The final score of the game was 50-42, a devastatingly close defeat for the Hawks.
After the controversial loss to the Bulldogs at Battle for the paddle the Hawks were itching to get back at these Bulldogs.
“We overlooked them too much, we were confident in our main offense,” Jace Taylor said.
The Hawks were just ready to get in and get revenge, not thinking about how to truly out play the Bulldogs in a way that would result in victory.
Things are changing this next time around and the Hawks are ready to play good quality Lakeland basketball.
The Hawks play the Bulldogs in their next game for the first round of districts. Looking to take the win in this next match up. Staying calm and collected in the tough situations that these games tend to get in and finishing the job at all costs.
Both teams having played each other so much, getting to know your opponent on a different level comes into play very intensely.
“We’re gonna bring a lot more energy and more pressure on the ball which they tend to struggle with,” Taylor said.
Knowing the opponents weakness can lead to very high success in the game. The Hawks are keeping the energy high but also staying focused in this important game against their rivals.
“This game is ours,” Taylor said.
