Lakeland High School is home to an exceptional talent, Cole Cooper, a varsity wrestler who has made waves on the state wrestling scene. Known for his tenacity and commitment, Cole has quickly ascended the ranks, earning a place among the top wrestlers in Idaho.
Cole’s performance during the current wrestling season has been nothing short of impressive. With a remarkable record, he has secured a spot in the state rankings, showcasing his ability to compete at a high level. Not only does Cole show his strengths on the mat, but also in the classroom.
“I like to pride myself on quality school work,” Cooper said.
Beyond his athletic and academic accomplishments, Cole embodies the spirit of sportsmanship. He is known for supporting his teammates, sharing techniques, and motivating fellow wrestlers to strive for their best.
“He’s always working hard at practice”, Cash Lund said.
Cooper has been an athlete his whole life, always wanting to stay active and work his absolute hardest at whatever he is doing,
“I’m working for that state title, it’s all I can think about,” Cooper said.
He’s on the way there this season being ranked 4th in the state of Idaho for his weight class.
“One of my favorite matches this season was battle for the paddle,” Cooper said, the rivalry matches are always intense but that’s when Cole feels he’s at his best ability.
“Pressure doesn’t bother me too much, I like to think it’s just another match I need to win,” Cooper said.
Cole dominated his match that night and got to show the whole school what he’s made of.
Although being an avid wrestler and athlete Cole does enjoy things outside of his sports and class.
“I love snowboarding during the winter and hanging out with friends and family,” Cooper said.
With wrestling season in full affect, Cole Cooper will continue to work as hard as he can to get that thing he wants the most, a state championship.
