Without a doubt Susie Smith is one of the most creative people I have ever met. She is always eager for a funny conversation, whether it’s about homework or a show you’ve watched, Susie will be a great addition. It’s rare to see her not drawing or talking with her friends. A girl with unlimited interests is just one way to describe Susie.
What’s your name and what grade are you in?
My name is Susie Smith (short for Susannah) and I’m a senior.
What activities, sports, and extracurriculars do you do?
So I am in choir and on the swim team both for four years and I also do game club.
You come from a very large family right? How many people are in it?
Within my immediate family we have nine people including myself.
Do you feel like your large family has affected or influenced your choice to do these activities?
Yes actually, I’ve done a lot of the same stuff as my older siblings like my sister Sarah was on swim team and a few of my other sibling have been in band but I wanted to be different and I like singing so I joined choir instead.
What other hobbies do you have?
I like to play video games, read, and draw.
Do you feel like your family has influenced or affected these hobbies as well?
The first two are definitely influenced by my family and my parents actually got us into video games and they’re the ones that got me into Legend of Zelda and they used to read to us a lot.
What about drawing?
I think drawing really came on its own it wasn’t influenced by family much.
If not your family, then what was your influence on drawing?
So the earliest influence for my drawing is from a girl I met in summer camp in like 3rd grade and she showed me how she drew cartoons and I wanted to start drawing like that and from that point on I was really influenced by shows I watched and games I played.
What do you think your hobbies say about you?
I’ve just really liked doing a lot of creative stuff like joining acting and most of my interests are really that, just doing creative stuff.
How do you think your interests have affected or impacted you personally?
So as someone having many interests I have never been able to understand people who aren’t obsessed with books or something because it’s like ‘How do you not have interests?’ and for me when I like a bunch of things I go through phases and I do often cycle through a few of the same things.
And then lastly what are a few of your current interests and obsessions?
Some of my interests are Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, because those were my first video games, and also skyrim. I also really like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and when it comes to books I’ve always really liked Percy Jackson and any of the related series.
