Delilah Zimmerman verbally committed to Montanna State University, Billings.
“This has been my dream school for four years,” Zimmerman said.
She has been playing softball for 11 years and on the varsity team for Lakeland High School for two years. She is also going into her junior season as a captain for the team.
Her head coach, Dwayne Curry, said she is turning into quite a leader for her team and is stepping up as an upperclassman.
“She made a great choice. It is a good program,” Curry said, “She will be close, and we can support her. She is an incredible softball player with a natural talent on the field.”
His teammates also speak very highly of her.
“She is a great person, always has jokes, and keeps everyone up and positive on the field,” said Keirston Drake, “She is really committed to softball. She always helps her teammates and makes sure they are doing their best. She is always willing to help them.”
She started softball because her dad played when he was a kid, and her grandpa played in the major leagues, so they were big influences on her.
“The atmosphere was a big reason I chose to play for MSUB. The coach is really nice and welcoming,” Zimmerman said, “Growing up, I always loved playing softball and have always wanted to play more competitively. I love the friendships I have made through the sport, and I can not wait to travel to different states to play in college.”
Zimmerman will be able to sign in November 2025 during her senior year.
