One moment he was awake, and the next asleep.
Asher Drake got his license a year and a half ago and recently crashed a Volkswagen Passat TDI
Drake was driving to school after staying up late at night and getting very little sleep. Drake noticed that he started to doze off, and said he needed to “lock in” so he would not fall asleep. Drake thought he was awake and driving like normal when, all of a sudden, he found himself driving over a street sign and folding it in half.
“When I woke up in the driver seat of my car I just kind of sat there in disbelief. I still wanted to get to school so I tried to move my car and it still drove but had a shake to it,” Drake said
The morning of his crash seemed pretty normal besides the fact that his face was dry, his eyes really hurt and his head was throbbing.
Drake is waiting to see what needs to be fixed and will continue driving it if he can. If not, he wants to buy a cheap car.
He has also crashed a few other cars. One was rolled three times and the other one was from speeding. Drake knows he’s a bad driver and is trying to be better and not look at his phone, not speed, not follow too close to cars in front of him and pay more attention while behind the wheel.
Drake has gotten pulled over 9 times and has 5 tickets.
Drake’s older brother has also crashed a few cars, so he thinks it is starting to run in the family. He is one of four children and has two sisters and one brother. Drake is a junior in high school and plays soccer and tennis.
Drake’s dream car is a BMW M2, because they are fast and really cool but still have that luxury feel when sitting inside and driving them. He just prefers smaller cars to drive in.
Drake’s first experience with a car crash was when he was 12 years old, he and his uncle were driving down the road and the car in front of them got hit and rolled a few times. When he saw this he was in shock that such a thing could happen and knew to be careful while in a vehicle.
