People come and go in and out of our lives daily. Still, some people’s personalities shine above the rest. Grace Early is one of those people whose impact lasts a lifetime.
With a vibrant persona and strong character, Early shapes the lives of many she meets.
She transferred from Genesis Prep to Lakeland High School at the beginning of the 2024 school year, although she has played sports for Lakeland for quite some time. Early has played soccer off and on ever since she was a little kid and played basketball her freshman year.
She plays soccer for Lakeland and has made many connections with teammates and coaches.
“It was a good time playing with Grace. I have played with her since Freshman year. She was my warmup partner 99% of the time. We always had some good laughs on the team, and annoyed our coaches most of the season.” Gloria Peterson said.
Early has lived in three states throughout her life. Born in Oregon, and lived in Washington before moving to Idaho, Early believes that change ultimately always leads to better things. New people and experiences helped shape a lot of Early’s childhood. Through the hardships of moving, she has found that the friendships she makes along the way make it all for the better.
Early moved to Seattle at the age of five, and then finally to Idaho in 2017 where she attended Genesis Prep until her junior year.
Transferring to Lakeland, Early was able to meet many new people. One of her favorite things about Lakeland is the Friday Night football games, and being in the student section during them.
“I have enjoyed getting to know Grace throughout the months that she has been here at Lakeland.” Cora Burnham said.
With a lively personality and strong sense of humor, Early can light up the halls of Lakeland High School.
Post High School remains a mystery for Early. “I have no idea. I’ll either go to college for something, but I have no idea what for. Or I will go into beauty and be an esthetician.”
While many people can feel rushed to decide their future, Early emphasizes the importance of enjoying the moment.
“I have gotten many close friends from high school and a ton of experiences and fun memories.”
Early’s future holds promise. She prioritizes her schoolwork and soccer to set herself up for success.
Taking multiple college-level classes, and maintaining a strong GPA enabled Early to be a well-built student at Lakeland.
Having lived all over the West Coast, attending many schools, and meeting many people, Early has lived an eventful life.
“It can be really easy to worry about the future, but all we really have is this moment. I think it is mostly important to lead with love and allow everyone to enjoy the moment we are in.” Early said.
