Q&A With Ben Bixby

Ben Bixby is a junior at Lakeland High School. He plays JV and varsity football, as well as baseball. 

Q: What is your favorite sport between football and baseball?

A: Baseball is my favorite because there is something about baseball just the game itself, like when you make contact with the ball it is super satisfying, and making a catch in the outfield is a great feeling, along with throwing someone out. I have played baseball for about twelve years, and I have always loved it. 

Q: What position do you play for football and baseball? 

A: I play running back and linebacker, and for baseball I play outfield. I like linebacker more because it is super fun when you make a good read, and hitting someone super hard is fun. 

Q: What are some of your favorite hobbies? Why do you enjoy them?

A: I enjoy driving my car, playing video games, and hanging out with my friends. I have a 1991 Toyota MR2. My favorite video games are Terraria, Minecraft, and Need For Speed. Out of those games, my favorite is probably Terraria. I have a history with it and have probably a solid four months of playtime. 

Q: What do you want to do after high school? 

A: Straight after high school, I plan on joining the Marines. After that, I really want to be a cop, but if the YouTube channel takes off I am going to try to pursue that. So go subscribe to my channel, Hawks Garage.

Q: What is your favorite place to go off campus for lunch? 

A: I like to go to Super1 because it is super consistent. There are a bunch of different options, and I can switch up what I get every day. I usually get the chicken strips and jo-jos, because they are basic, easy to get since they are cheap, and you can change the flavors really easily with the dips. 

Q: Is it hard for you to manage school and work? 

A: Yes, it is very difficult because my managers want me working as much as possible, and I have to leave football early to go to work and usually not get home until ten at night. Then I have to stay up late to do homework, resulting in less sleep for school the next day.

Q: What is your favorite car? 

A: My favorite car is a 1991 Toyota MR2. I like this car because it is super unique. It turns heads, and I just love the way it looks. 

Q: What are you most excited about this school year? 

A: I am really excited for Battle for the Paddle because I had such a splendid time last year, and I am hoping we can win again for the six-peat.
