Chances are, if you hear a joyful laugh in the halls of Lakeland, it’s Junior Leean Lohf.
For those who aren’t familiar with her, Lohf is the Junior class president. She’s also in the drama department, Key Club, and the dance team.
Lohf has an incredibly charming personality, accompanied by her incredible and unique style. She’s a very hard-working student with numerous talents and can often be seen cracking jokes with friends, but how much is really known about Lohf?
Most who know her are aware of her intelligence and outgoing personality, but they may not know her passion for storytelling in the media.
“Storytelling, as it is, is probably my favorite thing on the planet Earth,” Lohf said.
Since she was little, Lohf has had a passion for writing even before she can recall. When she was younger, she won awards and received positive remarks on her writing.
This draw to writing, specifically creative writing, has led Lohf to desire to be an author later in life.
“I never really wanted to be an author until maybe eighth grade when someone told me that I was good at writing, and I was like, oh gee, thanks,” Lohf said.
However, being an author isn’t the only career that involves storytelling for Lohf. She’s also drawn to the possibility of conveying a story through directing movies.
“When I watched Knives Out for the first time, I was like, ‘Wow, this is really good,’ and since then, I’ve been kind of obsessed with the behind-the-scenes of it all,” Lohf said about what first inspired her.
Conveying a story clearly and interestingly is an integral part of an excellent movie, and Lohf made her interest in having a part in that clear.
Another thing Lohf mentioned peaking her intense intrigue with storytelling, is music.
“I like when there are turning points in music like plot twist vibes,” Lohf said.
Lohf described an almost fondness for beat drops and climaxes portrayed in music. It’s an incredibly exciting thing for her to interpret a story in classical pieces. Whether the story being told is clear or not; it is, without a doubt, present. She also likes how music can shift tones, make moments more tense, or add to specific conflicts.
“Just telling a story or listening to a story, I absolutely love it,” Lohf said.
Lohf is so passionate about everything in her life that it’s no surprise that storytelling has had such an impact on her life.
