Morgan Dickerson is a junior at Lakeland High School. It is her second season in cheer.
Q: What’s it like having an older sibling who did the same sport as you?
A: It is very reassuring because I always have someone there. I also had someone to help me if I was struggling with a new skill. It also gave us more to talk about and a different level to relate to.
Q: What are your hobbies? Why do you find these enjoyable?
A: I love going to the gym because it is just a quiet place for me to focus on and get things done. It also makes me more confident both mentally and physically.
Q: What do you want to do after high school?
A: She wants to be a family and maternity photographer but mostly wants to focus on maternity. I want to be able to be creative and help the families have long-lasting memories framed.
Q: Favorite place to go off campus?
A: Taco bell, My normal order is a crunch wrap supreme with a medium root beer. I literally go there every day for lunch.
Q: Favorite part of cheer?
A: My favorite part of cheer is the stunting and dancing and getting to be with my teammates. I am glad to be back after taking a year off to focus more on school.
Q: What is it like juggling a job and sports and school?
A: It is really stressful sometimes and it is hard to keep a social life too because I barely have free time. It also makes doing homework hard and I am often tired because I am up later.
Q: Why did you get the guitar tattoo on your arm? What does it symbolize for you?
A: I got it done by my dad. It is a pre-memorial tattoo for my grandparents. The guitar is for my grandpa because he loves playing guitar, he has played it so much that he has worn a hole into the back of the guitar from his belt buckle. I got the hummingbirds and flowers for my grandma because her favorite bird is a hummingbird and the flowers are for all the wildflowers they have on their property.
Q: What has your favorite battle for the paddle theme been and why?
A: I liked hawk army the most because it is more intimidating than rock and roll plus it was easier to dress for.
