The Lakeland girls’ soccer team season has officially come to an end. They are ranked 12th in the Idaho division and have had a touch-and-go season.
Their final game was against Lewiston. They lost 7-1, officially ending their season and taking them out of the district game.
They had a 9-7 season record.
“Overall the season went very well, the improvement from last season is definitely showing,” Natalee Rose said, “For next season we are going to focus on our defense and team bonding.”
At the end of the season, the team started to lose their confidence due to losing players to injuries.
“Throughout the season we learned our communication needs some help, but we can stay positive,” Violet Stone-Fenton said.
Rose said they had a better record from last season and their effort during the game improved.
With the season coming to an end, the team will be losing nine graduating seniors and will have to rebuild their team for the next season.
“Losing the seniors is going to be sad, but it will open up opportunities and bring us closer as a team,” Violet Stone-Fenton said. “For my freshman season, I stayed consistent in how I played. And I played well. I am excited to see how my next three years on the team play.”
The Lakeland girls’ soccer team has continued to show improvement throughout the years and the girls that will be returning for the 2025-2026 season are looking to improve throughout the off-seasons and come back stronger next year.
Even though the 2024-2025 season did not end how the team would have hoped they made improvements from last year and had a better season.
