After their recent losses, the Hawks (4-2) are ready to make a new winning streak in their game against Timberlake on Friday, Oct 4.
Timberlake (2-4) won both of their games over two weeks after their devastating triple loss in their first 4 weeks.
“They look very sloppy and only run a couple of plays that we’ll easily stop,” Junior Peyton Sardinha said
Lakeland, ranked 4th in the state for 5A right now, believes it should be an easy match. Timberlake has lost 4 out of their 6 games all with point totals above 30.
Lakeland, being a larger school and a division above the Tigers, is confident that they can win.
“I think we’ll win 50-0 if we play our best ball,” Senior Carter Vanek said.
“I predict that we will win by 60,” Sardinha said.
The Hawks shouldn’t get too cocky as many teams have surprised them before. Lakeland needs to get into a fighting mindset to ensure their victory, as Timberlake has stomped all over their last opponents beating each by more than 20 on both.
Timberlake will come into this game wanting to keep that high-scoring winning streak going, and they will play their hardest, especially since they will be playing at their home field.
“Certain people will be tough but I believe a defense as a whole we’ll stop them,” Vanek said
