She has been dancing since she was three years old and hopes never to stop.
Lily Still, a sophomore at Lakeland High School, participates in the school’s dance team and performs for the Expressions School of Performing Arts. She does various styles of dance, her favorite being contemporary.
“I do every style of dance, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and point. My favorite style of dance is probably contemporary because it is really slow and has a lot of emotion, and it can be a really pretty style of dance,” Still said.
She is a kind and compassionate person.
Still’s favorite movie is The Notebook, which makes sense because of how much of a loving and kind person she is.
“My favorite movie is The Notebook because I just love happy-sad romance movies, even though it makes me cry,” Still said.
Along with her love for dance, Still also enjoys math.
“My favorite class is Mrs. Novak’s Algebra 2 class. I like it because she is a really fun teacher and I like the way she teaches,” Still said.
She has only been a student at LHS for two years but is already noticing some differences from middle school.
“It has been fun being in high school, it is a lot of work, but the experience is totally worth it,” Still said.
High school is difficult for anyone but Still has done a great job navigating the way things work.
Still is also the oldest sibling in a family of five.
“I have three siblings who happen to be triplets. There are two girls and one boy, and they are all thirteen,” Still said.
With all those kids in the house, there are a lot of home-cooked meals, Still’s favorite being chips and queso. Her mother makes it homemade with Velveeta cheese, and the whole family loves it.
Still is an extremely generous person, which made the question of what she would do if she had endless amounts of money hard for her to answer.
“I do not know, I really want to go to a Taylor Swift concert. She is my favorite singer, and I think the experience would be so fun. I was not able to get tickets to her last tour, so being able to get them would be pretty cool,” Still said.
With her favorite artist being Taylor Swift, it only makes sense that her favorite music genre is pop.
“I like pop because it is fun to listen to and blast in the car with my friends. It is also fun to sing along to,” Still said.
With her soft pink hoodie on, I should have known the answer to the question of her favorite color. Lily is the embodiment of pink. She is beautiful, funny, and makes everyone smile.
“Pink is my favorite color because it is really pretty and fun,” Still said.
Just like she is.
