Ziya Munyer came into the game strong with 24 kills, 4 blocks, and 4 aces for the Hawks. She is a very dominant player on that court and was a tremendous asset to winning the game.
“I went into the game with the mindset to sweep them, but we did lose a set,” Munyer said, “I am just really proud of my team for sticking with it. I just have to have a competitive mindset and making sure Liv knows where I am on the court.”
Olivia Zazuetta had 47 assists throughout the game. She was another key asset to winning the game and settings up the kills. She had great precision and strategy throughout the game.
Alyssa Ryckman had 10 digs and Addy Hocking had 17 digs. They made tough plays throughout the game and always kept their energy up.
“I had to not play selfish and play for everyone on the team,” Hocking said, “I think we just need one person to get a kill, then we keep going. When we start off with mistakes, we keep making them.”
It was a very touch and go game but the Hawks did not let the pressure get to them and they could take the game back multiple times. They kept their energy up and always cheered each other on.
“I think it helps us all play together and more as a unit,” Ryckman said, “You can not win a volleyball game alone. We need to start off strong and keep momentum.”
