The Lakeland High School class elections have ended, and the new office cabinet members are now accounted for and planning big things for next year.
The people elected for all student body (ASB) positions are Micah Bretveld for ASB president, Daniel Killian for ASB vice president, and Abbey Morlan and Addie Hawking for spirit leaders.
Sam Locke will be the Class President for the upcoming senior class, Colton Cleiman will be the Senior Vice President, and Noah Best will be the Senior Public Relations officer.
Leann Lohf is the president for the upcoming juniors, and her accomplice, Amelia Hamburger, is the vice president.
Aspen Liddiard is the sophomores’ sophomore class president, and Jackie Robbins will be the sophomore vice president.
While they may be separated by class, most have the same ideas about what to improve about Lakeland.
“Student Participation and overall school spirit,” said Lohf.
Which is what most officers in the student council want to see. The student council’s newest members are all in complete agreeance that they need to see a boost in school spirit and participation next year.
They know that this year, the main problem is spirit, but as everyone knows, the first step to solving a problem is to see that there is a problem. Now, it is time to solve the problem.
With all these new people in office eager to push LHS to the next level and be the best it can be, it is no wonder why they were voted into office.
However, there are also new ideas that have also been brought in.
“I would like to implement more dances for everyone to go to. This would increase the participation,” said Best.
However, other people have different plans.
Hamburger and Killian both agreed they would like to improve fundraising for all events, but primarily for Battle for the Paddle.
“I would like to make sure that when we decorate for battle for the paddle, we do a good job because last year we had a poster fall and get ripped because no one cared to fix it,” said Liddard.
With these new amazing people, Lakeland has so much to look forward to next year and nothing to worry about.
