On April 29, the Lakeland Hawks competed in the Lakeland Take Flight track meet with eleven other schools.

Included in the meet was in Clarkston High school, Coeur d’ Alene High school, Freeman High school, Lake City High school, Moscow High school, Newport High School; Orofino High School, Post Falls High School; Sandpoint High School and Valley Christian High School. 

For the Men’s 100-meter John Cornish placed in sixth place with a time of 11.71a and Richie Thomas placed seventh with a time of 11.88a. 

For the Women’s 100-meter Michaela Palanuik set a season record of 13.34a and McKenzie Palanuik had a time of 13.37a, the twins placed fourth and fifth. 

For the Men’s 200-meter, Richie Thomas, who placed fifth, also set a new personal record of 23.72a. 

For the Women’s 200-meter Addie Keifer who placed fourth for the Lakeland, the team set a new personal record time of 27.15a, and McKenzie Palanuik set a personal record of 27.42a and she placed fifth. 

For the Men’s 400-meter Terry Edwards set a new personal record time of 51.39a and placed third for the Lakeland team. 

 Addie Kiefer set a time of one minute and 1.24, also placing second for the Lakeland team. 

Jeremiah Couper placed twelfth in the Mens 800-meter and setting a time of two minutes and 17.96a for the Lakeland team. 

Ty Gilbert placed seventh in the Womens 800-meter with a time of two minutes and 44.45a for the team. 

In the men’s 1600 meter Owen Elizondo-Bachiero placed seventh for the Lakeland team and set a new personal record with a time of four minutes and 51.41a. 

Ty Gilbert also ran in the Womens 1600 meter and set a new personal record of a time of five minutes and 58.94a and placing in ninth place. 

Owen Elizondo-Bachiero also ran in the Mens 3200 meter, placed a new personal record with a time of ten minutes and 43.77a and placing in ninth place. 

In the women’s 3200 meter Cadenice Spears placed sixth and set a new personal record with a time of thirteen minutes and 21.60 followed by Kailyn Soenen who placed seventh with a time of thirteen minutes and 37.17a. 

In the men’s 110 meter hurdles, junior Cody Morse and senior Skylar Huber placed in sixth with Morse placing in fifth also setting a new personal record of 16.71a and Huber setting a time of 17.26a. 

For the women’s 100 meter hurdles, junior Stacy Barker placed ninth for the Lakeland team setting a time of 18.91a. 

For the men’s 300 meter hurdles, Cody Morse placed third with a time of 43.78a. 

For the women’s 300 meter hurdles, Stacy Barker placed fifth with a time of 52.45a. 

For the men’s 4 x 100 meter relay team, Thomas Calder, Richie Thomas, Terry Edwards and John Cornish placed second with a time of 43.66a. 

For the women’s 4 x 100 meter relay team, the team placed second including Regan Wright, Michaela Palaunik, Chloe Chavier-Soleittet, and McKenzie Palaunik with a time of 51.29a. 

For the men’s 4 x 200 meter relay team, John Cornish, Elijah Snidt, Bryce Henry and Richie Thomas placed third with a time of one minute and 34.61a. 

For the women’s 4 x 200 meter relay team, Michaela Palaunik, McKenzie Palaunik, Chloe Chavier-Soleittet, and Addie Kiefer placed second with a time of 1 minute and 46.56 seconds. 

For the men’s shotput, senior Grant Roth placed 11th, throwing a distance of 38 feet and 9.75 inches. 

For the men’s long jump, junior Terry Edwards placed fourth with a distance of nineteen feet and seven and half inches. 

For the women’s long jump, freshman Katherine Cameron placed sixth with a distance of fourteen feet and two inches. 

For the men’s triple jump, senior Bryce Henry placed third setting another seasonal record of 39 feet and ten inches. 

For the women’s triple jump, junior Emily Morlan placed fifth with a distance of 31 feet and one and a half inches. 

Overall, the men’s division placed fifth with a score of 73.75 and the women’s division placed second with a score of 94.5.

The next track meet the Lakeland Hawks will compete in is the District 1 Meet of Champions on Thursday May 5.
