Lady Hawks fall short in game one vs Lady Bulldogs

Ezra Benson, Sports Writer

The Lakeland Lady Hawks fell to the Sandpoint Lady Bulldogs 48-37 in game 1 of the regional tournament on Feb. 9th.

The Kiefer girls (Addie and Lila) both ended up with 9 points.

Kenna Simon finished the game with 8 points.

Sandpoint held an 11 point advantage to end the half. Lakeland started off the second half on fire, going on an 8-0 run.

Even with this effort, Lakeland could not bridge the gap that Sandpoint had established

Junior power forward Kenna Simon is going into the next game of the tournament with confidence. “We expect to play at home on Saturday and go to the state from there.”

Lila Kiefer feels that winning the next game is very obtainable, “We just need to come out strong in the first half and execute.”

The Hawks will travel back to Sandpoint for a win or go home game on Feb. 11. If Lakeland wins, they will play on Feb. 12 on their home court in a win-or-go-home game for both teams.
