The Lady Hawks are on a three-game losing streak. Suffering tough losses against Moscow, Sandpoint and Timberlake have taken them to a 7-9 record.

On the road against Moscow, the Lady Hawks lost 45-25 due to a lacking second-quarter defense. Addie Kiefer had 13 points and six rebounds, both of which led the team. Coach Seymour said, “We didn’t account for Moscow’s shooters.”

In their second road game against the Sandpoint Bulldogs, the Hawks lost 48-37 behind Addie Kiefer’s eight points, but Ziya Munyer crashed the boards and logged seven rebounds. Munyer said, “We weren’t moving our feet on defense.” Among other issues cited were further second-quarter struggles and lack of communication within the team.

In their most recent game against the Timberlake Tigers, the Hawks suffered a close loss 58-57. Kenna Simon led the team in scoring with 15 points, but sophomore Peyton Sterling had four assists and three threes.

The Lady Hawks were rolling until the Tigers went on a 22-5 third-quarter run. Coach Seymour cited a lack of perimeter defense but Simon said foul trouble hurt the team. “We had a lot of players in foul trouble, and that hurt us for sure, ” said Simon. Although they lost, Kenna said leading in scoring felt good.

Currently, on a three-game dry spell, the Lady Hawks hope to turn it around against Moscow in a win-or-go-home-district game. The date for this game is currently TBD.

When asked how to turn it around, Munyer said, “We need to put our whole heart into it and move our feet.” Hopefully, the Hawks can get it done on the road.
