Seniors Bryce Henry and Alden Waddington lead the team with points, both scoring 12 to help lead the Hawks (7-7) to a 59-37 defeat against Timberlake Tigers (5-8). 

Lakeland celebrated the class of 2022 seniors by hosting a senior night, the final home game for the boy’s team, with a pre-game ceremony about the player’s high school careers. 

Senior players included Jared Rings, Josh Haug, Alden Waddington, Bryce Henry, Grant Roth, and Tommy Pearson. 

With lots of emotions entering the game, the Hawks were looking to take home the win on a senior night. The Hawks had a new starting five for their game against Timberlake to include the seniors on their big night. 

In the first quarter, the Hawks dominated and scored 24 points and four threes made, with Timberlake only scoring 6 points. Waddington scored eight of his twelve points, while Roth scored all eight of his points in the first quarter. 

At the end of the first half, Hawks lead built up their lead to 16 points, with Junior Colin Cameron scoring five points in the quarter. 

At Halftime, the dance team performed before the Cheer team’s senior night. Senior Cheerleaders included Emma Zelene, Grace Benson, Lexi Furey, Kaitlyn Kohoutek, and Gracie Haslip. 

In the third quarter, Timberlake attempted a comeback, scoring 13 points. Lakeland keeps their flame going scoring 10 points, with Henry scoring five points in the third quarter. 

Lakeland finished the game strong with 18 points in the fourth quarter and solidified their win over the Timberlake Tigers. 

Zach Yetter scored 18 points for the Tigers, leading the game in points scored. 

Lakeland Hawk’s next game is against Post Falls on Saturday, February 5th.
