The Lakeland Hawks wrestling team fell to the Nampa Bulldogs in their first home dual of the year 59-25.

The night started off strong for the Hawks with a second-round pin from Gage Oles to put the Hawks up 6-0.

The Hawks then lost the next two matches at 220 and 285 with Devon Howell and Presten Jeffs getting pinned.

Then freshman Jaren Knopp was able to get a major decision 6-2.

The Hawks were not able to pull off a win for the next five matches. With the Bulldogs getting wins at 106, 113, 120, 126, and 132.

The Hawks were then able to get their score up with two wins from seniors Lucas Williams and Payden Wysong.

Then the Bulldogs were able to pull off wins at 152 and 160 with Marvelly Veal and Jonathan Seamons both getting pins for the Bulldogs.

Senior Devon Suko was able to pull off a win at 170 and get the Hawks’s score up. Hutton Hegbloom was pinned at 182 pounds.

The Hawks will compete in River City Duals this weekend.
