The Lakeland Lady Hawks won their first game of the season on Sep. 15. They beat the Priest River Lady Spartans 5-1 in an exhilarating and strong first victory. 

Chloe Charvier-Soleillet scored two goals to continue her great season. She leads the team in goals and showed out in the Lady Hawk’s best game of the season in Priest River.

The Lady Hawks led 4-1 at the half and held their lead throughout the whole game. Kyndal Dolin also pitched in and scored, continuing her impressive freshman season. 

Sophomore Regan Wright also scored her first goal of the season, pouring it all on the Lady Spartans in sweet victorious fashion. When asked how she felt about the score, Wright said, “Our first win was very relieving and refreshing, and it felt great to look at the scoreboard and see us in the lead. We have made a lot of progress especially compared to last year, and I am very proud of all of the girls and our coaches for helping us get our first win. The energy was great all game.” 

One of this season’s leading scorers for the Lady Hawks, Claire Johnson, was not quiet in the win either, scoring yet another goal tying Charvier-Soleillet for the team lead. 

Fresh off the first win of the season and a week of rest, the Lakeland Lady Hawks traveled across the highway to face off with the Post Falls Lady Trojans. 

The Lakeland Lady Hawks soccer team had two games this week.

On Sep. 21, The Lady Hawks played The Post Falls Lady Trojans at Post Falls. They started off strong in the first half but struggled later in the game. 

The Lady Trojans defense was shutting down every opportunity the Lady Hawks had. The final score of the game was 13-0.

On Sep. 23, The Lady Hawks played The Lewiston Lady Bengals at home. They fell short in the second game of the week, 8-0 but played a solid defensive game vs. their 5-A opponent.

Coach Kevin Rogge was interviewed after the home loss and said “That he is very impressed with the improvement they have had, they just need to work on passing and spacing more, and he believes they will do some really bright things.”

The Lakeland Lady Hawks will look to bounce back next week against the Lake City Lady Timberwolves at 4 pm in another road game for Lakeland.
