Post Falls Rolls Hawks

The Lakeland Hawks played their second and third games of the season on Thursday against Post Falls and once again fell short. Post Falls took game one 22-0 and threw a perfect game, and took game two 13-5.

Post Falls varsity team is extremely strong this year, and after sweeping Couer d’Alene in their first two games of the season and not having any problem taking down Lakeland, they have moved to 4-1

In game one, Bryson Fisher, Josh Mason, and Garrett Love all pitched. Fisher threw one inning, gave up six hits, three walks, and 12 runs.

However, only four of those twelve runs were earned. Mason threw three innings, struck out three batters, walked one, gave up six hits and seven runs, five of them earned. Garrett Love threw two innings and gave up five hits and three runs.

In game two, the Hawks played much better and only lost by eight. After not getting a baserunner in game one, Lakeland had seven hits in the second game. Nobody had multiple hits but seven guys contributed to the five runs that Lakeland scored with base hits. These seven guys include Nick Nowell, Cameron Harris, Scott Pote, Cole Strietzel, Payden Wysong, Sam Pemberton, and Garrett Love.

Cole Strietzel, Payden Wysong, and Cole Strietzel all pitched in game two and allowed far fewer runs than the Hawks did in game one.

Lakeland will look to bounce back from their 0-4 start on Thursday, March 25 against Canyon Ridge.
