Many states are known for their natural and splendid scenery, which is cherished by each of the small towns that are engulfed by it.
Idaho, Montana, and Washington all include beautiful, well-known, and hidden treasures of nature.
However, one of the most favored parts of nature is the wildlife.
“I like seeing the trees and the mountains, seeing what is around each corner, and hopefully getting to see some animals,” Corey Pettit said.
Whether you are in your neighborhood, mountains, forest, or park, you are bound to come across some kind of wildlife.
Wildlife does not just include the bears and deer, it includes all living species within nature.
From itty-bitty insects like beautiful butterflies to small woodland creatures like frogs.
Of course, there is so much more to nature than just the creatures inside, it sparks a benevolent joy to see them either way.
Although it is perfectly fine to admire these creatures from afar, trying to pet them is definitely a no-no.
These wild animals are trying to go throughout their day peacefully, so we should leave them alone just as much as they try to stay away from us.
People, not specifically you, try to pet many different species, not just small critters.
Shockingly enough, it is common to find someone trying to pet (or take a picture with) deer or even bison.
Although these are not the most fatal animals to try and touch, there are many that would take your life; this includes many wild cat species.
Annually, approximately eight people die from trying to pet wild cats, and 47,000 people a year are left having to find medical assistance.
There are three specific wild cat species that inhabit North Idaho: the mountain lion, the Canadian lynx, and the bobcat.
Although one may think that bothering these creatures would only affect the person, that would be wrong; any contact with these animals could compromise their life.
They have already had to adapt to the humans that have moved into their territory; let’s not further destroy what they had to rebuild.
Species are constantly being endangered by humans through the destruction of their habitats.
The Canadian lynx has made its way onto this list, which is now threatened by possible extinction.
They are not your average house cat… no matter how many videos you’ve seen
The more species that become endangered due to human advancement will only later affect the natural wildlife that many adore
The more we destroy the environment, the more it affects us.
“It’s ours to utilize and experience, and if we don’t take care of it, if people don’t care about it, it can go away,” Pettit said.
It’s the circle of life.
Wildlife advancements are constantly being made to help balance both the evolution of mankind and the safety of our wildlife friends.
There are 19 species in Idaho alone that have made their way onto the endangered species list.
These animals could be right outside your door, and one might have thought it was just a regular critter.
There are four endangered mammals, including the grizzly bear, the North American wolverine, the little brown bat, and the previously stated Canadian lynx.
However, it is not just mammals that are endangered; species of animals such as sea mollusks, birds, and fish have all made their way onto the endangered species list.
Not only are animals constantly becoming endangered, but so are the plants, which are the same food source that many animals need for survival.
However, to help solve this problem, people come together to help care for and protect these species; for example, the Idaho Wildlife Federation and the Idaho Conservation League.
Currently, there are over 31,000 wildlife conservation groups that are working to protect animals endangered everywhere
So although some of these animals are scarcely coming to the end, with help from people globally, they will return to their former numbers.
