Masks on, mats unroled, singlets and shoes all strapped.

This all took place on Jan. 5 in the Moscow Middle School gym where the Lakeland Hawks wrestling swept the Moscow Bears and the Lewiston Bengals.

The Bears would have to forfeit six matches giving up 24 points due to sickness. They forfeited the following weight classes 98, 126, 132, 170, 182 and 195. The Hawks had to forfeit at the 113 pound weight class.

The final score of the night was Lakeland 70 and Moscow 18. The Hawks would only lose two matches against the Bears at 106 pounds and at 220 pounds. The Hawks would have a total of five pins.

That same night the Hawks would face the Lewiston Bangles and would beat them 60 to 27 including eight pins. The Bangles had to take a forfeit at the 113 pound weight class giving up six points to the Hawks.

After the matches Head Coach Rob Edelblute said, “Winning these matches tonight is what will help you placement in the district and state tournament so it is important that you fight till the last whistle and not give up easy points.”
