Recently the physical education teacher, Mrs. Duncan has stepped down and retired leaving the position open to many candidates. Mrs. Duncan taught at LHS for more than 40 years. 

Mr. Williams is the new P.E. teacher and so far he is fitting in great. He has taught PE for the past 16 years and prior to teaching PE, he worked in college athletics. He spent 12 years on the football staff at Auburn University in Alabama. Mr. Williams says that he loves teaching kids and that teaching is not a job but a calling for him. 

This isn’t the first time Brian Williams came to Lakeland. Mr. Williams first came here 3 years ago, looking for an opportunity to join the staff but no positions were available. He did not give up, and jumped at the chance to join the staff this year when the opportunity opened up. Brian says that he has always loved this school and the environment. He said that his first day he felt comfortable and it was a good fit. Mr. Williams is a good fit and very fun to talk too. If you don’t have his class, stop by and introduce yourself.
